We thought we would shine some light on this subject because we know you can be heart-broken over broken crystals that you’ve grown to love!
So, what does it mean when a crystal breaks? Sometimes it doesn’t really mean anything at all. It could be just plain and simple laws of gravity and physics that caused it, like a fall to the ground or impact against a hard surface. It could also be due to a change in temperatures from extreme hot to cold or vice versa. Some crystals are not water-safe and if they get wet they are weaker and crack very easily. But often times a stone or crystal just breaks…with no clear reason as to why. When that is the case, we need to look at energy.
Remember your lesson in physics class with the opera singer who could shatter a glass with her high-pitched voice? This demonstrates that every object has a natural frequency at which something vibrates. To shatter the glass, a singer’s voice has to match that frequency of the wine glass. The same physics apply when it comes to crystals. They may crack due to the vibrational frequency of the crystal matching a frequency in its environment. And seemingly, out of nowhere CRACK!
But because a crystal cracks or chips or breaks does not mean you need to stop loving them. A broken crystal does not mean it stops working either. Continue to love them because they are still as powerful in their energy and here to heal you - even though they appear to be the ones in need of a healing.
You can place a broken crystal in the garden or a house plant to give the soil some nourishing crystal healing energy or in your bathtub for a detoxifying soak. Another idea is to place these crystals in parts of your home to bring in good Feng Shui energy like at the front door or near your bedstand for a peaceful rest. Or place them in your pocket, car or purse (heck, I've even tucked them in my bra if they aren't sharp) for good ole' crystal healing energy on the go! Think about it, this crystal that was once one has now become two – or more – pieces for you to spread its crystal healing energy around!
Ok, but what if that happens more than once with the same or a particular crystal? The answer in that case is it’s work with you may be complete or done. Take it as a good sign from the universe because you are ready to move on and perhaps you can gift this piece to someone more in need of it. It’s work on you may be done, but it’s work isn’t done it just is signaling to you it’s ready to move on to someone else.
But cleanse the crystal of your energy first by placing it near a clear quartz or under the sun or moonlight to recharge its crystal healing powers. If you don’t do this the crystal will reboot on its own and within about a month it will be ready to work its magic again. Don’t you just love the wisdom of these fascinating specimens of Mother Earth?!
I hope you feel a little less broken hearted on the subject of broken crystals now!
xo,
Kim
